Join us in raising awareness about kidney disease from the ground up to the national level. Early detection is vital: it can slow or prevent the progression of CKD. Slowing the progression of CKD is what’s prolonged our founder’s life.

Simple and low-cost blood and urine tests can detect kidney disease at various stages. People who smoke, are overweight, or have high blood pressure or diabetes are at greater risk for developing CKD. African Americans develop kidney failure at a rate of nearly 4 to 1 compared to Caucasians, while Hispanics develop it at a rate of 2 to 1. There is urgency for ensuring proper diagnosis and treatment of patients with CKD in the earlier stages and to bridge the gap.

Each holiday season, we offer comfort items such as fleece blankets and neck pillows to alleviate dialysis symptoms such as back pain and anemia. Many hemodialysis patients experience dry mouth and hoarseness as well. We collect non-perishable items that fit guidelines offered by renal dieticians with consideration to dietary and fluid restrictions. Inaugural It only takes one gala
